Steering dampers effectively prevent the handlebars from tipping over when parking (e.g. on a two-legged bike stand). This makes the bike significantly safer.
In addition, steering dampers increase overall riding comfort thanks to greater stability and a better trajectory (e.g. when riding with baskets or panniers).
The frame, lighting cables, and other attachments are no longer damaged by the handlebars tipping over.
